U.S. Defense Department Accused of Creating the Ebola Outbreak

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you’ve probably heard about the outbreak of Ebola that has been ravaging certain parts of Africa and even a few cases in the U.S. Well, certain prominent people are now blaming the U.S. government for the recent outbreak and accusing the U.S. Department of Defense of genetically engineering the virus to test on human subjects in Africa. One might write these accusations off as just another crazy, conspiracy theory but those familiar with U.S. history and the infamous Tuskegee Experiments from 1932-1972, which injected African American men who thought they were getting free medical care with syphilis  so scientists could study how syphilis left untreated affects the human body, are not so sure. Health officials’ mishandling of the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S. didn’t help either! The hospital that was treating the patient mistakenly sent him home when he first came to its emergency room acknowledged that both the nurses and the doctors in that initial visit had access to the fact that he had arrived from Liberia.
